From Southern Living. Ingredients:
1 (7 ounce) can chipotle chiles in adobo, undrained |
2 lbs lean ground beef |
2 teaspoons steak seasoning (mccormick grill mates montreal steak seasoning) |
0.5 (10 ounce) package cheddar cheese, cut into four thick slices (cracker barrel sharp cheddar cheese) |
4 hamburger buns with sesame seeds |
tomato, slices |

Directions:
1. Process chipotle peppers in a blender until smooth; measure 4 teaspoons puree, reserving the remainder for another use, if desired. 2. Combine 4 teaspoons puree, ground beef, and steak seasoning in a mixing bowl until blended (do not overwork the meat mixture). 3. Shape mixture into 8 (4-inch) patties; place 1 cheese slice on each of 4 patties. 4. Top with remaining 4 patties, pressing edges to seal. 5. Cover and chill at least 30 minutes. 6. Grill, covered with grill lid, over med-high heat (350°-400°) 7-8 minutes on each side or until beef is no longer pink. 7. Serve burgers on buns with desired toppings. |
