The wings you order at sports bars often have a sweet barbecue sauce covering them. The sauce for the recipe here contains mostly hot sauce, so the carbs stay low. Ingredients:
3 dozen chicken wings (about 3 pounds) |
cooking spray |
1/2 cup hot sauce |
1/4 cup water |
1 (1-ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix |
1 to 3 teaspoons ground red pepper |
1 1/2 cups reduced-fat blue cheese dressing |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°. 2. Cut off and discard wing tips; cut wings in half at joint. Place chicken on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. 3. Combine hot sauce, water, soup mix, and red pepper. Brush chicken with half of hot sauce mixture. 4. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 30 minutes. Remove from oven; turn chicken, and brush with remaining hot sauce mixture. Bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until tender. Serve warm with dressing. 5. carbo rating: 3 |
