This recipe is from Green Hills Garden Club Cooks...Favorite Recipes from Vicksburg, MS (Fronia Theobald). Excellent dish! Zesty! Ingredients:
24 ounces frozen hash browns |
1/3 cup butter, melted |
1 cup jalapeno pepper cheese, shredded |
1 cup swiss cheese, shredded |
1 cup diced cooked ham or 1 cup crumbled bacon |
1/2 cup half-and-half |
2 eggs |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Press thawed hashbrowns between paper towels to remove moisture. 2. Pat hashbrowns into greased 10-inch pie plate, forming a crust. 3. Brush crust with melted butter, making certain to brush top edges. 4. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes. 5. Remove from oven. 6. Sprinkle cheeses and ham or bacon evenly over bottom of crust. 7. Beat the half and half with eggs and salt. 8. Pour over cheeses and meat. 9. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. |
