A friend of mine received this recipe from her mother-in-law. My husband asks for it frequently so I double the batch! Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs stew beef chunks |
1 (1 ounce) envelope onion soup mix |
3 cups water |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
2 (16 ounce) cans diced tomatoes |
2 carrots (cut up) |
1 celery (cut up) |
2 medium potatoes (cut up) |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Brown beef in oil. 2. Drain off excess oil. 3. Mix soup mix, tomatos, water and chili powder. 4. Cook uncovered 30 minutes. 5. Add vegetables and cook 45 minutes. |
