This recipe was given to me by my friend in Texas. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1 small onion, minced |
1 small garlic clove, minced |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon paprika |
1/8 teaspoon dried basil leaves |
1/8 teaspoon dill weed |
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme leaves |
salt |
black pepper |
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 cup water |
3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 (10 ounce) package egg noodles, cooked |
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese |
1/3 cup monterey jack pepper cheese |
1/2 cup provolone cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cook and stir ground beef, onion and garlic in large skillet over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, stirring to separate meat. Drain fat and discard. Add chili powder, paprika, basil, dill, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Cook and stir 2 minutes. 3. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and Worcestershire sauce, mix well. Simmer, covered 20 minutes. 4. Combine meat mixture and noodles in 2 quart casserole dish. Mix cheeses and spread on top. 5. Cover and place in oven for 20 minutes. 6. Uncover and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. |
