I saw this in our newspaper and it sounded good. I haven't tried it yet. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 tablespoon smoked paprika |
2 teaspoons chili powder |
2 teaspoons cumin |
2 teaspoons dried oregano |
2 teaspoons garlic powder |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
2 lbs ground beef |
2 apples, peeled, cored and diced |
1 yellow onion, diced |
6 ounces tomato paste |
3 cups chicken broth |
2 tablespoons cider vinegar |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. In large saucepan over medium high, heat the oil. Add all the spices. Cook, stirring constantly for 30 seconds. Add the beef and cook until browned, about 6 minutes. 2. Add the apples and onion, then saute for 5 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste, broth and vinegar and bring to a simmer. Cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes. |
