These treats are great for fall. I've had this recipe for eons and its fun to make it every once in awhile. Goes great with a cup of coffee and a little scoop of ice cream. Yummy and old fashioned. Ingredients:
2 large granny smith apples, peeled and cored |
1 can (8 count) crescent rolls |
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 cup orange juice |
Directions:
1. Cut each apple into 8 pieces. 2. Unroll crescent roll dough, separate into 8 triangles. 3. Cut each in half lenghtwise to make 16 triangle strips. 4. Place an apple piece at end of each strip; roll up. 5. Arrange in a 9 inch square baking pan. 6. Drizzle with butter; sprinkle with mixture of cinnamon and sugar. 7. Pour orange juice into pan, but not over dumplings. 8. Bake at 400 for 30-35 minutes or until apples are tender. 9. Serve warm. |
