I've never tried this Florentine-style dessert and have never had anything like it. I thought I'd put it out there in case someone might be interested. From, Pasta with a Flair. Ingredients:
1/2 package (6 ounces) fine or medium noodles |
1/4 c butter, melted |
3 c applesauce |
2 eggs |
3/4 c dark brown sugar, packed |
1 tsp. vanilla |
3/4 tsp. cinnamon |
1 c raisins |
1/2 c chopped almonds |
whipped cream |
Directions:
1. Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. 2. Toss noodles with melted butter. 3. Combine applesauce, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, raisins, and almonds; fold into noodles. 4. Pour into a buttered 8-inch square pan. 5. Bake at 375 degrees, 45 minutes. 6. Serve warm, topped with cream. |
