Spiced Vanilla French Toast |

I love French toast, but I HATE it when it's soggy. This cooks up light and delicious. It's especially good topped with fresh berries or warm apple pie filling! Ingredients:
6 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 tablespoons heavy cream |
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice |
1/8 teaspoon grated orange peel |
1 loaf french bread, sliced thick (about 10 slices) |
Directions:
1. In a shallow pan (such as a pie plate) whisk together the eggs, vanilla, cream and spices. 2. Spray skillet with non-stick spray and heat to medium heat. 3. Dredge each piece of the bread in the egg mixture, one side at a time. DO NOT soak the bread or dip the entire piece in - just each side. 4. Cook each side until it no longer appears moist, and is lightly browned. 5. Move to serving plate and sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar and serve. |
