A nice change from plain rice, this dish complements curry very well. From Easy Curry Cookery. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups long-grain rice |
3 tablespoons margarine |
1 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 stick cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground cardamom |
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric |
1/2 cup frozen peas |
3 1/2 cups water |
1 cube beef bouillon |
Directions:
1. Heat the margarine in a large saucepan. Add spices and stir over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. 2. Stir in peas, water, bouilion cube and rice. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until water is absorbed. 3. Remove cinnamon stick and stir before serving. |
