This is from a book of old pioneer recipes Ingredients:
6 cups red cabbage, shredded |
3 tablespoons butter, melted |
1 tart apple, chopped |
6 whole cloves |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup water |
3 tablespoons vinegar |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients, except the vinegar. 2. Pour into a buttered casserole dish. 3. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until cabbage is tender. 4. Sprinkle vinegar over cabbage immediately upon removing dish from oven. |
