Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 cup water |
1 cup dry white wine |
2 whole cloves |
1 (2-inch) cinnamon stick |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
6 navel oranges |
3 grapefruits |
3 bananas |
garnish: cinnamon stick |
Directions:
1. Bring first 5 ingredients to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes. Stir in vanilla. Cool syrup. Discard cloves and cinnamon stick. 2. Peel and section oranges and grapefruits, and place in a large bowl. Gently stir in syrup. Chill mixture, if desired. Slice bananas, and stir in just before serving. Garnish, if desired. |
