Great on a hot summer day! I just came across this recipe in an old cookbook. Ingredients:
6 cups water, divided |
3/4 cup sugar |
2 cinnamon sticks |
6 whole cloves |
1 large lime, thinly sliced |
1 lemon, thinly sliced |
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups water, sugar, cinnamon sticks and cloves to a boil. 2. Reduce heat, simmer 10 minutes. 3. Remove from heat, discard cinnamon and cloves. 4. Cool. 5. Pour into a large pitcher. 6. Stir in lime, lemon, lemon juice and remaining water. 7. chill at least 1 hour before serving. |
