Spiced Basmati Rice with Peas |

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups basmati rice |
1 tablespoon cumin seed |
1 cup frozen peas, defrosted |
lemon juice |
Directions:
1. In a medium sauce pan bring 2 cups of water to a boil. 2. Add rice, stir and cover. 3. Reduce heat to low and cook for 20 to 30 minutes. 4. Add up to 1/4 cup water if rice becomes dry. 5. In a heavy skillet, toast cumin seeds over medium heat until fragrant about 2 minutes. 6. Stir often. 7. Add to rice and stir to blend. 8. Add peas and stir. 9. Season with lemon juice. |
