This recipe uses the reserved rendered spiced pork fat to cook the asparagus. Just reserve the spiced pork fat from the pork belly recipe to make this delicious dish. Enjoy. Ingredients:
1 lb asparagus |
3 teaspoons spiced lard |
salt |
Directions:
1. 1. Slice the asparagus into 2 inch pieces discarding the tough ends. 2. 2. On medium high heat melt the reserved spiced pork fat from the pork belly Pork Belly in a medium sized pan. It should render at least 2-3 tsp of highly spiced fat. 3. 3. Add the asparagus pieces and fry until slightly golden stirring often. Season with salt and serve with salmon dish or chicken. |
