Spiced Apple and Raisin Sauce |

This is great over vanilla ice cream or served alongside chicken or turkey. Adding a touch of vinegar and some red pepper flakes make it go great with Pork also. Basically, this sauce has a lot of uses. Ingredients:
1 cup coarsely chopped apple |
1 tablespoon butter |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1/4 cup raisins |
1/4 teaspoon clove |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1 cup water |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
Directions:
1. In medium skillet, cook apple over medium low heat in butter until tender; stir in brown sugar, raisins, cinnamon and cloves. 2. In small bowl, combine remaining ingredients; blend well then stir into apple mixture, stirring constantly. 3. Serve warm alongside poultry or over ice cream. |
