Spice Scones Ingredients:
3/4 teaspoon all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger, ground |
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg, ground |
6 tablespoons vegetable shortening |
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed |
1/4 cup molasses |
1 tablespoon brandy |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Combine the flour, ginger, and nutmeg. 3. In a large mixing bowl, cream vegetable shortening and brown sugar. 4. Beat in the molasses and brandy. 5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. 6. Drop the dough by spoonfuls 2-1/2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. 7. Bake 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown. 8. As soon as the cookies are cool enough to handle, remove them from the baking sheet and roll up around metal cone shapes. 9. Place seam side down on wire racks to cool. 10. Nancy {:-). |
