Dry rub for steaks. Ingredients:
2 teaspoons cumin seeds, toasted |
2 teaspoons brown sugar |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
36 ounces beef loin steaks, 1 inch thick (3 12 oz steaks) |
Directions:
1. To toast cumin seeds, place them in a heavy saucepan, over medium heat, cook 1 or 2 minutes until fragrant. 2. Slightly crush toasted cumin seeds; in a small bowl combine with brown sugar, cinnamon, oregano, salt, cayenne, and garlic powder. 3. Trim fat from steaks; rub both sides with spice mixture. 4. Coat grill with nonstick cooking spray; preheat grill for medium direct heat. 5. Grill steaks to desired doneness, 11 to 15 minutes, turning once for medium rare, 14 to 18 minutes for well done. |
