from Great-Grandma Huebotter Ingredients:
1 cup raisins |
1 cup nuts |
2 cups sugar |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 teaspoon allspice |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups water |
1 cup vegetable shortening |
4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/3 cup water |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300°F 2. Combine all ingredients except last three in large saucepan & bring to a boil. 3. Add 1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 1/3 c water. 4. In separate bowl, sift flour 3 times. 5. Mix everything and pour into greased bundt cake pan. 6. Bake 1 hour. |
