A great dessert recipe from Crosby Molasses, with a Sauce recipe that can be used in many different ways, Make special note of the sauce!! Ingredients:
1 cup soft breadcrumbs |
1 cup sour milk |
3 tablespoons meltd butter |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup molasses |
1/2 cup sifted flour |
1/2 teaspoon . salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon clove |
1/2 cup raisins, floured |
1 egg |
1 tablespoon water |
3/4 cup molasses |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. PUDDING: Combine bread crumbs and milk and mix with butter, sugar and molasses. Sift together the dry ingredients and stir. Blend raisins. Pour in 1 quart casserole. Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes. Serve hot with Satin Sauce. 2. SATIN SAUCE: Beat egg and water in a saucepan until foamy. Stir in molasses and salt. Cook over low heat 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and vanilla. Serve hot. |
