A schmear of cream cheese on this bread and it's a great breakfast on the go or afternoon snack Ingredients:
1 cup dark corn syrup |
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed |
1 egg |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda |
1 tsp. cinnamon |
1 tsp. ground ginger |
1/2 tsp. ground cloves |
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1 cup milk |
sometimes i add raisins and/or pecans |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 2. In mixing bowl, add corn syrup, brown sugar and egg, mix well 3. In another mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients 4. Add to egg mixture alternately with milk and mix well 5. Pour into greased 9in.x5in. loaf pan 6. Bake 75-80 or until toothpick inserted at center of loaf comes out clean 7. Cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan and cool completely |
