This is a really quick, delicious way to start your day. All you need are few simple ingredients and in less than 5 minutes, you've got breakfast. You can tailor this recipe to your wants/needs. Put as much or as little sugar and spices in the oats as you desire. Ingredients:
1/4 cup instant oats |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt |
1/2 cup cold water |
1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar |
3 tablespoons milk |
1/4 cup golden raisin (optional) |
1/8 cup walnuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Mix the oats, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, salt, raisins and water in a microwave-safe bowl. 2. Microwave on high for 1-1.25 minutes, stirring every 15-30 seconds until the oatmeal has reached the desired consistency. 3. Stir in the brown sugar, walnuts and a few drops of milk, serve warm. |
