Special Cranberry Sasuage Stuffing

I have had this recipe over 30 years. It can be also made vegetarian. It's unique with some sweetness, tartness and savory from the sausage. Its also very colorful and people seem to love it. It's only one of two stuffing recipes I make every Thanksgiving. Read more . So easy just mix all together. Wished I took time to photograph this one!
Ingredients:
12 cups of cubed white or egg bread ( i leave crust on )
2 cups fresh cranberries, coarse chopped ( use food processor )
1/2 cup of sugar ( this could be less but i like this ratio so far )
1 1/2 cups chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth - enough to moisten
1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley
1/2 tsp sage
1 tsp thyme
1 pound sauage cooked and drained of fat and crumbled or vegan sauasge like soychorizo
salt and pepper to taste ( sauasge may be spicey and salty enough )
Directions:
1. Simply mix all together for a stuffing consistency.
2. Either stuff your turkey or place in a casserole and bake uncoverd
3. ( for a crispy top ) or covered ( for softer top ) 350 about 30 minutes or well heated.
4. This also freezes very well and looks so pretty and colorful on your plate!
