So easy and such a great snack to take to work. I make this every time I open a can of pineapple and don't want to waste the juice. The cooking time given is drying time. You could also dry these in a low-temp oven. Ingredients:
4 granny smith apples |
1/4 cup pineapple juice |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Peel the apples and cut them into 1/4 thick rings or slices. 2. Dip the slices in pineapple juice for 1 minute. 3. Place the dipped apples on a mesh screen positioned on a dehydrator tray. 4. Mix together the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top of the apples. 5. Dry for 6 to 10 hours at 135F until crisp. 6. Cool completely and store in an airtight container. |
