Meyer lemons, a cross between lemons and oranges, start to ripen in November. They add a deliciously fragrant sweet-and-sour note to this cocktail. Ingredients:
10 ounces calvados, applejack or apple brandy |
4 ounces ginger brandy, ginger cordial or ginger syrup |
juice of 4 meyer lemons |
ice cubes |
32 ounces sparkling cider, chilled |
8 pieces (about 2 ounces) crystallized ginger or lemon twists |
Directions:
1. In a pitcher, stir together calvados, ginger brandy and juice. Divide among 8 chilled glasses filled halfway with ice. Top each with sparkling cider, and garnish with ginger. DO AHEAD: Mix the liquor and lemon juice, and refrigerate up to 4 hours in advance. 2.
