Another not so hot recipe, for us wimps, actually no heat at all. Ingredients:
3 tablespoons margarine |
1 cup white rice, extra long grain |
1 small onion, diced |
1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes, chopped |
2 cups water |
1/4 cup ketchup |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1 tablespoon light brown sugar |
Directions:
1. In a large frying pan, melt the margarine over medium high heat. 2. Add rice and onion and cook until onion is tender. 3. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a low bubbling boil. 4. Lower heat, cover (do not lift the lid while cooking) and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes. |
