This recipe came from my husbands grandmothers recipe card file. Its pretty old. We all love it, and I hope you do too. You can play around with this recipe and add what you want to suit your tastes. I prefer it as it is. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 cup onion, chopped |
1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped |
1 medium garlic clove, minced |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
4 cups v8 vegetable juice |
1 cup rice, uncooked |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Brown beef in skillet. 2. Add onion, pepper, garlic and chili powder. 3. Cook until onion and pepper are tender. 4. Add remaining ingredients. 5. Bring to boil. 6. Cover; cook over low heat 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. 7. Stir occasionally. |
