Rich, slow simmered homemade taste. Red sauce like I grew up with, thanks mom. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1/2 onion, chopped |
3 garlic cloves |
28 ounces petite diced tomatoes |
6 ounces tomato paste |
8 ounces tomato sauce |
1 bay leaf |
1/2 teaspoon basil |
1/2 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon marjoram |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 1/2 cups water |
1 lb cooked spaghetti |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef, drain. 2. Saute onoion till soft. Add garlic cook 30 seconds. 3. Add all ingredients to large dutch oven. Bring to boil, then reduce to simmer on low heat. Cook partially covered 1 1/2 hours. 4. Uncover and simmmer 1 hour or till thickened, stirring occationally. 5. Remove bay leaf. 6. Serve over 1 pound cooked spaghetti. |
