One of those dishes when you don't want to fuss, easy cheesy and yummy. Ingredients:
1 8 ounce package of spaghetti broken into pieces |
2 tbsp of olive oil |
1/3 cup of parmesan cheese |
big pinch of salt |
same of pepper |
1 egg well beaten |
1 lb. of ground beef |
1/2 lb. of mild italian sausage, squeezed out of casing |
2 cloves of garlic chopped |
1 onion chopped |
2 cups of shredded mozzarella |
1 jar of prepared spaghetti sauce |
1 tsp of oregano |
1 cup of cottage cheese |
Directions:
1. Cook spaghetti and drain. 2. Toss with olive oil, parmesand, salt, pepper and egg. 3. Mix well. 4. Spread in the bottom a 13 x 9 pan (lightly sprayed with nonstick cooking spray) 5. Saute meat, sausage, onion and garlic in a little oil until browned and no longer pink. 6. Drain off excess fat. 7. Stir the spaghetti sauce into the meat mixture/ 8. Mix the oregano into the cottage cheese. 9. Spread the cottage cheese over the spaghetti noodles. 10. Spread the meat sauce over the cottage cheese. 11. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 12. Cover generously with shredded mozzarella cheese. 13. Bake 10 minutes longer to melt the cheese and lightly brown the top. 14. Let stand for 15 minutes before cutting into squares. |
