Spaghetti pie made with whole wheat spaghetti noodles and ground turkey. Ingredients:
8 oz whole wheat spaghetti |
1 lb extra lean ground turkey |
1 cup chopped onion |
1 cup sliced mushrooms |
20 oz marinara/speghetti sauce |
2 large eggs , beaten |
2 tbsp butter |
8 oz fat free ricotta cheese |
2 cups reduced fat shredded mozzarella cheese |
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese |
3 sprays pam cooking spray |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350d. 2. Spray a 10-inch glass pie plate with Pam cooking spray. 3. In large skillet, brown ground turkey until cooked through. Drain. 4. Add marinara sauce, onions, and mushrooms to turkey. 5. Simmer until heated through. 6. Cook spaghetti noodles according to package directions. 7. Drain and return to pan. 8. Add beaten eggs, butter, and 1/3 cup parmesan cheese to noodles. 9. Press noodles into pie dish to form crust 10. Top with Fat Free Ricotta cheese and spread evenly. 11. Top with Meat/Sauce mixture 12. Bake for 25 minutes. 13. Remove from oven, top with remaining Parmesan and Mozzarella cheeses. 14. Return to oven and bake another 5-7 minutes or until cheese melts. |
