I am constantly getting Pork Fried Rice for lunch at one of the Chinese restaurants near work and one day I asked what they marinated their pork in. This is a recipe I found that had all the ingredients. It makes the pork fabulously sweet. Ingredients:
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1 -2 clove garlic |
1 stalk scallion |
1/2 cup soy sauce |
1/4 cup sherry wine |
1 tablespoon honey |
1 tablespoon honey |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
Directions:
1. Rub pork strips with 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp sugar, let stand 30 minutes. 2. Crush garlic and mince scallion, combine with soy sauce sherry and 1 Tbls honey. 3. Add to pork strips and let stand 30 minutes more, turning frequently. 4. Drain, discarding marinade. 5. Combine remaining honey and sugar, brush over meat and roast. |
