Took a spin with pretzels and made them a little different and was plesently suprised how they turned out. Cheesy and a little spicy is all i have to say about these pretzels. Ingredients:
2 cups wheat flour |
half of a 4 oz package yeast |
1/2 cup cheddar cheese |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
1/2 cup water |
1 egg white |
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes |
1 cup zucchini |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 garlic cloves, finely minced |
Directions:
1. disolve yeast in the warm water for ten minutes. 2. combine flour, chili powder, red pepper flakes,and salt. 3. add egg, water and yeast, garlic, zucchini and cheese. 4. knead about 10 times. 5. cover and place in a warm damp place until doubled in size. 6. kneed a few more times with flour and split into 6 pretzels. 7. bake at 350 for 25 minutes. 8. baste with egg whites while baking. |
