Perhaps a tad healthier but who really knows? Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey |
1 cup diced onion |
1/2 cup diced celery |
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper |
1 32 oz can of whole peeled tomatoes |
1-15 oz can chicken stock |
3 tbs base ancho sauce ( see recipe) |
1-15 oz can of pinto beans or kidney ( drained) |
1 tbs floridian gourmet southwest low-sodium spice blend |
1 chipotle chopped |
1 tsp 3 mile sauce & salsa ( habanero carrot sauce) |
2 tbs olive oil |
Directions:
1. In a stock pot add the oil and on a medium heat bring oil to temp( about 2 minutes) add the onion, bell pepper and celery. Saute for 5 minutes. Add the turkey meat and break apart with a wooden spoon and continue to cook for 5-7 minutes until it turns opaque. Add the southwest spice, ancho base sauce and stir for 1 minute, add the chipotle, habanero carrot sauce and stir for 30 seconds. Add the can of chicken stock, tomatoes and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Add the beans and simmer another 15 minutes. If you like more of a broth with your chili simply reduce the cooking time. 2. 3milesauceand is the place I buy some sauces. |
