Southern Squash Casserole

Ingredients:
2 pound(s) yellow squash sliced
1 cup(s) sweet onion diced
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) tony's creole seasoning, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon(s) black pepper
4 tablespoon(s) water, more as needed
4 tablespoon(s) butter
1/2 cup(s) milk
1 1/4 cup(s) cheddar cheese shredded
1 cup(s) ritz crackers crumbled
1/2 cup(s) pecans chopped
Directions:
1. Butter a 1 1/2 quart baking dish or use cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Place squash, onions, Tony's, salt and pepper in large saucepan. Add small amount of water and cover. Cook until tender, adding more water as needed.
3. Drain squash and return to pan, stir in butter.
4. Crumble crackers and stir into squash mix and pour in buttered dish.
5. Pour milk over the top and top with cheese and pecans.
6. Bake for 20 minutes.
