A classic recipe. And a taste treat. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 cup light (karo) corn syrup |
1/2 cup water |
2 cups raw peanuts |
2 tbs butter |
1 1/2 tsp baking soda |
Directions:
1. Boil sugar, corn syrup and water to hard boil. Stir in peanuts and continue to boil until peanuts pop., (about 295 degrees). Remove from heat. 2. Stir in 1 1/2 tsp baking soda and 2 tbs butter 3. Pour onto greased cookie sheet. 4. Break apart when cool 5. Note: Other nuts such as pecans or walnuts can be used for a different flavor. |
