Southern Palette Lemon Bars |

From a southern cooking group for these tangy and well loved lemon bars. Having made many lemon ba recipes, butter is better for best flavor in my opinion! Ingredients:
crust |
2 c all purpose flour, sifted |
1 c butter or margarine, softened |
1/2 c confectioner’s sugar, sifted |
filling |
4 eggs, beaten |
1/2 tsp baking powder |
2 c granulated sugar |
4 t confectioner’s sugar |
1/3 c lemon juice |
1/2 c flour |
Directions:
1. Crrsut: 2. Sift together flour and confectioner’s sugar. 3. Cut in butter until mixture clings together. 4. Press into 9×13 inch dish. 5. Bake at 350 for twenty five minutes or until lightly browned. 6. Filling 7. Combine and beat eggs, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. 8. Sift flour and baking powder; stir into egg mixture. 9. Pour over baked crust. 10. Bake at 350 for fifteen minutes or until slightly browned and set. 11. Remove from oven. 12. Cool and sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar. 13. Cut into bars. |
