From GULLAH HOME COOKING THE DAUFUSKIE WAY. I have not tried this yet, but will when someone gives me some deer meat this winter. NOTE: I like spice, so I may spice it up with some SRIRACHA HOT CHILI SAUCE. Ingredients:
2 lbs ground deer meat |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1/2 tablespoon minced garlic or 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder |
1 medium onion, diced |
1 medium green bell pepper, diced |
2 eggs, beaten |
1/4 cup cooking oil |
Directions:
1. Combine all of the ingredients except the oil in a bowl, and squeeze with your hands until evenly mixed. Shape into half-pound burgers (roughly a fist-sized ball of meat, flattened). Heat the oil in a medium skillet and fry the burgers, turning, until done (rare, medium, or well, depending on what you like). |
