Best greens ever! Ingredients:
1/2 lb bacon, diced |
3 onions, sliced |
1 pinch cayenne |
2 green onions, minced |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1 (12 ounce) bottle beer |
1/2 cup vinegar |
1 tablespoon molasses |
6 lbs greens (mustard, collard, turmip, kale, spinach) |
Directions:
1. In a large pot, fry bacon until crispy. 2. Add onions, cook for 6-7 minutes, until wilted. 3. Add garlic, cayenne, green onions. 4. Cook for 2 minutes. 5. Stir in beer, vinegar, molasses. 6. Add greens, 1/3 at a time, pressing down as they start to wilt. 7. Cook uncovered about 1 hour, 15 minutes. |
