Ingredients:
3 cups shelled fresh green peas, cleaned (about 3 pounds unshelled) |
1 cup water |
1/4 pound salt pork |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons butter (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine green peas, water, salt pork, and salt in a small Dutch oven. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 25 minutes or until peas are tender. Drain; add butter, if desired, and toss lightly. |
