This is a simple and delicious hot appetizer. I got the recipe from one of my favorite southern cooks - Paula Dean. Ingredients:
1 15-oz can chili |
2 8-oz packages of softened cream cheese |
2 cups of grated sharp cheddar cheese |
3 green onions chopped |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 350 degrees 2. heat chili over medium heat for 5 minutes or in microwave for 2-3 minutes 3. press softened cream cheese into the bottom of a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish 4. pour heated chili over cream cheese 5. sprinkle with grated cheese 6. bake for about 20 minutes til mixture is hot and bubbly 7. remove from oven and top with chopped green onions 8. serve with tortilla chips |
