Great spin on Kraut
Ingredients:
4 cups ground round hamburger
2 cups crushed saltine crackers
3 tablespoons chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. celery salt
2 egg yolks unbeaten
2 tbs. bacon fat
1 no.2 can saurkraut or 2cups homemade kraut
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons vinegar
Directions:
1. Combined first 7 ingredients throughly. shape into small meat balls
2. Heat bacon fat in skillet brown meatballs
3. pour sauerkraut and juice over meat balls
4. Add brown sugar water vinegar
5. cover simmer 30 minutes or till heated through
6. makes 5 generous servings
