Here's a lovely recipe for walnuts frosted in a sweet sour cream coating. There's always a crystal bowl of these in my house during the holiday season. I make bags of these to take to the school for the teachers and office staff. Ingredients:
2 cups granulated sugar |
1/2 cup sour cream |
1 tsp pure vanilla extract |
4 cups of whole and halved walnuts |
optional: 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, bring sugar and sour cream to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. 2. Remove pan from heat and stir in vanilla extract and walnut halves and pieces; stir until coating sets. 3. Spread on cooking sheet to cool. 4. * Before the nuts set, you can sprinkle them with chocolate sprinkles or holiday-colored sprinkles of your choice. |
