SOUR CREAM PRALINE BISCUITS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Quay Estate in White Settlement, Texas in 1992. Ingredients:
1/3 cup margarine melted |
1/2 cup brown sugar packed |
36 pecan halves |
2 cups biscuit mix |
1 cup dairy sour cream |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425. 2. Combine 1-1/2 teaspoons margarine and 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 3. Spoon into each of 12 ungreased muffin tins. 4. Arrange 3 pecan halves on brown sugar mixture in each cup. 5. Mix baking mix and sour cream until soft dough forms and beat vigorously 30 seconds. 6. Turn onto cloth covered board well dusted with baking mix. 7. Gently roll in baking mix to coat and shape into ball then knead 5 times. 8. Roll or pat 3/4 thick then cut with 2” biscuit cutter dipped in baking mix. 9. Place biscuit in each cup then bake until golden brown. 10. Immediately invert pan on heatproof serving plate. 11. Let pan remain until sugar mixture drizzles over biscuits about 15 minutes. |
