                    My grandmother and my mother made this when I was growing up. It's now in high demand at my husband's office and doesn't last through the afternoon when he brings it to work. :o) Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                # 2 cups butter, softened  |  
                                                # 3 cups sugar  |  
                                                # 6 eggs  |  
                                                # 1 teaspoon vanilla extract  |  
                                                # 3 cups all-purpose flour  |  
                                                # 1/4 teaspoon baking soda  |  
                                                # 1/2 teaspoon salt  |  
                                                # 1 cup sour cream  |

                                1. # Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan or 9 inch tube pan. 2. # In a large bowl, cream together the butter and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt ; mix into the batter til smooth. Stir in sour cream. Spoon batter into the pan, and spread evenly. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
