An interesting sweet and sour, creamy baked pie from eggchef's mom's recipe box. Ingredients:
1 cup sour cream (full-fat or light, but not fat free) |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
1 pinch salt |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
2 eggs |
1 tbsp vanilla |
1 cup pitted dates, chopped |
pastry for a one-crust pie (unbaked) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425F. 2. Combine sour cream, sugar, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon eggs, and vanilla until smooth. 3. Add the dates and blend well. 4. Pour into pie shell. 5. Bake for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 325F. 6. Bake 25 minutes. 7. Cool thoroughly and chill. |
