Tried and True. Sour cream makes this cake delightfully delicious, while a mixture of cinnamon and sugar laces through the cake. Great coffeecake for breakfast or brunch. Ingredients:
2 sticks unsalted butter |
1-1/2 cups sugar |
1 cup sour cream |
2 eggs, well beaten |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
cinnamon sugar nut mixture |
1 cup finely chopped nuts (like to hand chop them) |
1-1/2 teaspoons sugar |
2-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
Directions:
1. CINNAMON SUGAR NUT MIXTURE 2. Mix cinnamon, sugar, and nuts in bowl, set aside 3. SOUR CREAM CAKE 4. In mixer bowl, with mixer, cream butter, sugar, and sour cream 5. Add beaten eggs, beat well 6. Combine dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture 7. Beat well 8. In bottom of a well greased tube pan, put a third of cinnamon mixture 9. Alternate layers of batter and cinnamon mixture ending with batter 10. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40-45 minutes |
