From Mom's recipe box Ingredients:
1/4 lb butter or 1/4 lb margarine |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups cake flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon table salt |
1 cup sour cream |
5 tablespoons cake flour |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 cup chopped almonds or 1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F Butter a 13x9x2 baking pan. 2. Cream butter and sugar with electric mixer. Add eggs and vanilla. 3. Sift together cake flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Alternately add dry ingredients and sour cream to creamed butter, starting and ending with dry. 4. Sift cake flour, brown sugar and cinnamon together; stir in nuts. 5. Pour half the batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle half the filling evenly over surface of batter. Pour remaining batter evenly over filling, then sprinkle remaining filling evenly over the top. 6. Bake in preheated oven 45 minutes. |
