Recipe says it serves 8 but I would think that would be from one loaf. I've doubled this recipe and made 4 loaves at the time, turns out well. You will probably never use another Banana Bread recipe once you try this one, it's so flavorful and moist. Read more . Extra Special Recipe, when my mom tasted this she started using my recipe instead of the one she made all her life. Ingredients:
1 c. butter |
1 1/2 c. sugar |
3 eggs |
1 1/2 c. bananas, mashed |
4 c. flour (plus 2 tbsp.) |
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder |
1 tsp. baking soda |
1 1/2 c. sour cream |
1 c. chopped walnuts, optional |
1 tbls. vanilla |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add eggs and beat. 3. Add bananas and beat. 4. Mix dry ingredients together (baking powder, baking soda and flour). 5. Add the well-mixed dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour cream. 6. Beat until smooth. 7. Stir in chopped nuts last. 8. Pour into 2 large greased and floured loaf pans and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or less at 350 degrees. To test for doneness, insert a sharp knife into center of bread. If it comes out clean, bread is done. 9. This bread is very moist and freezes well. |
