My mom used to make this pie when I was growing up. Ingredients:
2 eggs |
1 cup sour cream |
1 cup sugar |
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3 cups tart apples, chopped & peeled |
1 unbaked pie shell (9 inches) |
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed |
3 tablespoons butter, cold |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, beat eggs. 2. Add sour cream. 3. Stir in sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, vanilla and salt; mix well. 4. Gently stir in apples. 5. Pour into pie shell. 6. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. 7. Meanwhile, combine brown sugar and remaining flour; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. 8. Sprinkle over top of pie. 9. Bake 20 to 25 minutes longer or until filling is set. 10. Cool completely on a wire rack. 11. Serve or cover and refrigerate. 12. Yield: 8 servings. |
