Sour Cream And Chive Biscuits |

These are a little different and very flavorful variation on regular biscuits. They are great with a bowl of soup. Recipe from Complete Guide to Country Cooking. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/3 cup shortening |
3/4 cup sour cream |
1/4 cup milk |
1/4 cup fresh chives ; snipped |
Directions:
1. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. 2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 3. With a fork, stir in sour cream, milk and chives until the mixture forms a ball. 4. On a floured surface, knead 5 to 6 times. 5. Roll to 3/4-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. 6. Place on ungreased baking sheet. 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. 8. Makes 12 to 15 biscuits. |
